America the decadent

Filed under: Social theory — site admin @ 5:14 pm

Few would argue that America has become decadent; the only argument is what kind of decadence it is afflicted with. But few would disagree that greed is rampant and virtue nearly unknown.

BUT, and this is a very big word, many will argue that, while true, this is not all-important; America has such sound fundamentals that minor things like this cannot bring it down.

They do not explain what these are, however, they just assume everyone agrees this is so. But I, for one, am not aware of their existence. I can see a weakening America—something they cannot see at all. And I can see the reasons for it.

A nation cannot be strong if its people have no interest in making it strong—but are only interested in helping themselves. This is the situation we have now.

The future is the same every other people faced in the same situation: America will become history.
